Maddy obtained her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of West Georgia. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Maddy has a background in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as an ABA Therapist.

In therapy, Maddy employs an integrative approach, combining Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Expressive Therapy. Maddy is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) certified and  incorporates DBT to help clients manage strong emotions, assist children and teens in understanding difficult feelings, and promote mindfulness strategies. Maddy is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and is working towards full certification. Through TF-CBT, clients learn to process their trauma narratives in a safe environment while developing coping skills such as emotion regulation, relaxation, and mindfulness. Caregivers are actively involved, learning strategies to support their child, improve communication, and foster healing within the family system.

Maddy specializes in working with children, teens, and adults, ages 3 and up, addressing a wide range of stressors and diagnoses, including anxiety, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), behavioral challenges, self-esteem, maintaining friendships, life transitions, changes in family structure, trauma, and social skills. She also helps clients reframe negative self-talk and enhance emotional recognition and regulation.

In addition to her work with her clients, Maddy collaborates with parents and school professionals to develop and implement behavior management strategies at home and in school settings. She offers parenting sessions that focus on effective communication, behavior management, and strengthening the parent-child connection. Maddy actively partners with schools to create a seamless support network and provide skills to use in the classroom.

Maddy believes in empowering and validating her clients in their therapeutic journey to achieve their goals. She leverages a child's interests to engage them in sessions and connect with their therapeutic objectives. In her free time, Maddy enjoys traveling, spending time with her puppy, and indulging in Marvel movies. She's also a big fan of Harry Potter and Bluey.
